Eats, Shoots & Leaves
Jul. 8th, 2006 02:44 pmToday I had to revise my CV so as to apply for a job that I already have. That whole process annoyed me, so instead I'm thinking about Eats Shoots & Leaves, which I read the other weekend at Intonation. The festival was a bit of a disappointment in parts, but the book was just killer. Who would've thought that grammar could be so damned amusing? Well, me, I suppose. Eats Shoots & Leaves is witty and curmudgeonly in just the right amounts - not cutting any slack to those who abuse the comma, but avoid undue harshness on those who use punctuation in historically appropriate though currently sketchy ways.
Check this one out - especially if you're a nerd like me.
