khamsin: (coffee)
It is really just VERY cold in my office right now. I've started a small campaign to move out of my office and up into a space on the 6th floor with WINDOWS, but we'll see if anything comes of that. Not seeing daylight is very difficult for me. In the meantime, I will continue to plot my Shawshank-like escape.

We had a productive and fun weekend for the most part - I had to work all day Saturday, but got a substantial amount of work done on a project that I've been dragging my heels on. SB and I did a lot of running around for Bonnaroo prep Saturday night, and now we're just about set. On Sunday, SB took a long bike ride and I ran, then worked on homework stuff until [livejournal.com profile] dilicous and [livejournal.com profile] kevinq2000 arrived from the MD side. We picked up cheeses and meats at Cheesetique, and had a picnic lunch by the Marine Corps War Memorial, more commonly known as the Iwo Jima Memorial. It was a perfect afternoon for a picnic. We wandered around Arlington Cemetery for a while and got to see one of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier totally scare a little kid who went past the guard rail to retrieve her cemetery map. The four of us met [livejournal.com profile] msmaryclare and David for dinner at Bangkok 54, which was very yummy for the price. I bought weird Asian snacks, and then spent the rest of the night reading social science research theory.

This next week is going to be 100% busy with homework, a midterm, and trying to get stuff in good shape at work before we're off to Bonnaroo next Wednesday. Richard will be here this weekend, and I have my 5K on Saturday. On Sunday, Shane will be riding a metric century for the Tour de Cure. And then we will both fall over. The end.
