Apr. 26th, 2017 09:18 pm3 weeks after submitting our application, we STILL have no lease paperwork - neither do the tenants. We put the basic terms of our agreement in writing via email today just to be mutually assured.
And then we put in our notice on our apartment 10 days too late to meet our landlords' 45 day notice requirement. Let's hope they're cool about it.
And then we both got weepy about leaving this apartment, the only home our baby has ever known. N got a little emotional about leaving our landlords as well, which was sweet.
Such a change from the way I used to live, moving nearly every year, but N is change-averse, and it's all just harder with a toddler.
Yesterday I parked near the restaurant where my work dinner was taking place and enjoyed the 15 minute walk to work through the neighborhood all abloom. I passed through a park on my way to the restaurant and felt a swell of excitement about moving, about my family being among the many playing on the playground, or throwing a ball around, or just enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.
Leaving this apartment is going to be really hard. But I think we're making a good choice.
